Our Heart project has been 'endorsed' by our great national Banking Industry! It's only taken 8 MONTHS, yes - 8 blimmin months, for us to be given a bank account!!! But at last we have one ready and waiting for successful grant applications.

We're happy to have Michael Plant join our team.

Michael is married with two young children who both attend the village school. After 26 years’ service he retired from the Royal Air Force relocating to Cradley for the beautiful location and thriving village community. He is a keen environmentalist who also enjoys gardening, mountain biking and hill walking.

It's great to get more people on board. If you're interested in helping the project in any way do get in touch:

Our Heart project is proving to be a bit like the weather – it really is getting people talking.

Over the last few weeks, a team of volunteers has been knocking on doors throughout our local area asking people to complete a short questionnaire about the Heart project. It’s been a great chance to speak to neighbours and residents we have never had the chance to meet before.

We have now reached a key stage with our plan to create a community shop, café and green space on Morgan’s Field. By the beginning of November, we will decide whether we can go ahead and begin detailed plans and grant applications. To do that, we have to find out exactly how much support there is for the Heart. We also need to know the number of people willing to work as volunteers in the shop and café and how many residents are prepared to buy £10 shares in the project. And that is why we have been giving our short questionnaire and update leaflet to as many people as possible in Cradley, Storridge and Mathon.

As well as helping decide whether we have enough support to proceed with the project, the feedback will also be passed to our Parish Council to help inform their long-term planning.

Many thanks to all of you who have already given us your answers. Apologies to anyone we might have missed. If you haven’t received our latest leaflet and would like to be involved, please do get in touch or complete our questionnaire online as soon as you can. We want to gather back as many of the forms as possible by mid-October.

Hopefully you will find all the information you need browsing through our website and if you would prefer to have a chat about the plans – and the weather – please feel free to give any one of us a ring.
